I am the Graphic Designer and Project Manager at The Best Bees Company, a national company that provides beekeeping services to corporate and residential clients.
In 2016, Best Bees created HoneyDNA, an innovative report that allowed beekeeping clients to see what plant species their bees foraged on using genomic sequencing of honey samples. Ten years later, I collaborated with the Director of Brand, our research team, and an environmental research lab to design, develop, and launch a new version of a keystone product.
The new 5-page HoneyDNA report features new biodiversity metrics for our clients as well as comparative data that offers year-over-year comparisons and regional context. The redesign also includes a brand refresh with an expanded color palette, and a new automated fulfillment process. I collaborated with our partnering lab to develop R code that produces the designed infographics, increasing efficiency in fulfilling the 100+ reports ordered each year.
I also worked on the launch strategy that included promotional newsletters, social media posts, and a new landing page on the website.
Working with the Director of Brand and a local artist, I assisted in the concept, design, build, and project management for an exhibitor booth at the BOMA International Expo. The two main goals of our participation in BOMA were to showcase our brand (especially since BOMA was based in our founding city of Boston that year) and to generate leads for the sales team in the commercial real estate space.
In a crowded trade show, our bright yellow walls, honey giveaway stand, and observation frame of live bees helped us stand apart and attract visitors to the booth. Once there, folks had an opportunity to talk with our sales team, take home honey and print materials, and enter their information to win a giveaway basket of beeswax products. Our efforts brought in over 100 qualified leads for the sales team, which so far has converted to $172,000 in opportunity value.
Working with copywriters, researchers, illustrators, and beekeepers, I designed a 50-page downloadable and printable research report with the goal of generating leads, establishing brand trust, and communicating our mission to the general audience.
Once it was designed, we launched the report with a landing page that includes a lead generation form for the downloadable, as well as a pop-up on our website, promotional emails to our newsletter audience, and a series of social media posts that all led to the landing page. We also got a few copies printed to showcase at tradeshows and pitch meetings. So far, 1,200 people have downloaded the report and subscribed to our newsletters, about 10% of our current newsletter audience.

In the summer of 2023 and again in the fall of 2025, I created a new responsive design for the home page of bestbees.com using Wordpress.
